As you may know Childhood Abuse, Neglect, and as a result, Pregnancy Loss in adults by miscarriage, abortion (50 million a year, a conservative estimate) and still birth is an epidemic not only in the United States and for that matter in the whole world. While in the Ukraine in 2003 I attended a medical conference in Lvi’v and heard that “90% of pregnancies are terminated”. Mother Teresa of Calcutta says that “the worst sin of the world today is that mothers are killing their unborn children”.

This all starts with abuse and neglect according to Dr. Philip Ney MD the founder of Hope Alive. In his book Deeply Damaged, Pioneer Publishing Co. Ltd., 1997, he emphasizes the seriousness of the epidemic of Abuse, Neglect and Pregnancy loss by stating the following metaphor: ” A man and a woman came puffing up the hill… they began shouting ‘you have to help us. It is terrible down there. There is a huge battle going on. Millions of people are being killed and hundreds of thousands of people are wandering around in the darkness with open wounds looking for someone to treat them. Please help us.’ …Most people responded to their urgent pleas with ‘I do not see anything. All I see is a valley covered in a blanket of fog. I am sure it will soon lift and we will see the beautiful river down there. No. Can you not here the screams?…It is terrible down there. There are dead babies lying all over the place and mothers and fathers walking around with open wounds. People are randomly killing each other and others are hiding in fear. Many are drinking or drugging themselves to death trying to ameliorate their pain. Do not be fooled by the fog. It is dark and desperate down there. Please help!’ The majority wandered away. Some stopped long enough to learn more and a few of them volunteered to help… The wounds were deep enough that extensive training would be required before they could do a proper job. There would not be enough professionals… (Nonprofessional) Trainees had to understand it was a difficult, tiring and dangerous job.”

As you can see the results of childhood abuse and neglect have serious results. Is God calling you to help? Let me know soon. We need you. Questions and/or comments are encouraged.
