“Dear Family,
I recently found out a lot of very important information regarding abortion, miscarriage, pills to terminate pregnancy and the emotional and physical effects created by these and other ways used to “relieve” women of their babies. This is really not just a Catholic/Christian thing. I and many people have supported Women’s pro choice for years and I now find myself having a different outlook. I have learned that there are deep ramifications to these types of decisions. There are so many alternate decisions that can be done for pregnancies e.g. women can get financial aid, training and $$ for medical bills, housing, adoption and more. These websites below are just some of the websites of organizations that help many in these areas of concern throughout the world: hopealive-hawaii.com, messengers2.com, (articles and papers) and priestsforlife.com.
I have never had a pregnancy loss. There have been, however, miscarriages and abortions by family members and friends. In the course of taking the program called “Hope Alive” I realized that I had really been affected emotionally and was needing to grieve these losses and did not realize it. In addition many personal emotional issues that I had growing up kept me from becoming the person I should and should have been. I just completed a one week intensive counselor training (to be a counselor for the Hope Alive program) and I also previously decided to receive a 30+ week counseling program for myself. It was a difficult but eye opening experience that has changed my life considerably. Many things I never realized was brought out in the open and healed through the process (Thank God)
Hope Alive was developed by Dr. Philip Ney in Canada (see website Messengers2.org). It’s whole purpose is to help people (men and women) who have been abused emotionally by neglect (or other reasons), have been sexually or physically abused and is also for those who are suffering the effects of pregnancy loss (by abortion, miscarriage, or still birth of their own baby or those babies lost by family or friends). Often these women do not realize that they are suffering or why they are suffering and continue their lives poorly by reenacting the child hood damages with wrong relationships, drugs, alcohol, depression, depression, anxiety and many other mental and emotional disabilities. They also can suffer diseases such as breast cancer from the abortion or pregnancy loss (statistically and medically proven). The highest rate of breast cancer has been shown to be caused by hormones and chemical changes which are released into the body by 4 hours after conception. When the unborn child is removed suddenly by abortion and or miscarriage these hormones affect the cells of the mother and later lead to cancer. It is also my opinion that guilt and stress from these decisions also is a large contribution factor.
All that I have learned and experienced has really changed my view on what I used to see as “woman’s rights”. I now realize that there is great damage done to women by these choices that is not being told. We must all begin to know and creat new ways for women to enjoy sexual intimacy in different ways and allow the bodies natural process in conception to continue to completion. Women who lose babies by miscarriage and abortion must be able to humanize their lost child and grieve appropriately and keep a healthy lifestyle to prevent later disease both physically and emotionally.
Pregnancy prevention by birth control methods also will not solve the problem. There also nave been studies e.g. with women using contraceptives and also the exchange of seminal fluids and the negative effects it can create. These birth prevention chemicals also cause damage physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally.
I am one who really does not buy into the “Catholic/Christian guilt and sin” as many may think what I am saying is just a religious thing. Woman’s lives are in danger. This is true and scientific information which needs to be known by all and shared. Please consider these words and hopefully pass them on to those who may need them.
With blessings and Aloha… Rosemary in Hawaii
